According to news reports, 3M will eliminate their Scotchguard products from their product line because of concerns over PFO (Perfluorooctane Sulfanate). This chemical is harmful to humans and the environment and is found in all of 3M's fabric protectors.

KEM-O-PRO's PRO-307 Fabric Protector with Non-Stick Protection has never contained PFO. It is also free of 1,1,1 Trichloroethane Chlorinated Solvent, CFC and Freon that can also harm the environment. Instead, the company's water based formula relies on Fluorocarbon Polymer Resins to provide stain resistance to upholstery and fabrics.
